Debra Louann Buckner, 53, of Bentonville, Ark., died Sunday, April 1, 2018, at the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Ark.

She was born Oct. 30, 1964, to the late Harold Gene and Oca June (Payne) Buckner in Gravette, Ark. She lived most of her life in the McDonald County area before moving to Bentonville 16 years ago. She enjoyed family genealogy, crafts, watching the Dukes of Hazzard and anything to do with Star Trek.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include a sister, Tina Marie Boling of Centerton, Ark.; and a brother, Randal Gene Buckner (Edith) of Chicago, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018, in the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo. Burial will follow in the Simsbury Cemetery near Powell, Mo.

Steven Joe "Steve" Killion, 66, of Noel, Mo., died Friday, March 30, 2018, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo., after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born March 23, 1952, in Maysville, Ark., to Andrew and Mary (Henson) Killion. He was raised in Noel and was a 1970 graduate of McDonald County High School. On March 6, 1976, he married Pamela Robbins. He worked for Simmons Foods in Southwest City and was a devoted Fireman and First Responder with the Southwest City Fire Department for 41 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Noel Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Lane Killion; and eight siblings, Bill, Don, Lawford, Jan, Betty, Bonnie, Mary and Carol.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Pam Killion of the home; two daughters, Melissa Anacito of Southwest City, Mo., and Stephanie Jacks (Derek Marvin) of Sulphur Springs, Ark.; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at the Full Gospel Church in Southwest City with Pastors Dick Lett and Brandon Robertson officiating. Burial followed in the Southwest City Cemetery.

Memorials are being directed to the American Cancer Society c/o the funeral home.

Virginia Lee Bickford Shelton, 71, of Goodman, Mo., died March 26, 2018, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo., after suffering an apparent heart attack.

She was born May 19, 1946, in Rocky Comfort, Mo. to George Wesley and Ruth Elizabeth (Jones) Myers. She was a lifelong resident of McDonald County Missouri. On Feb. 14, 1964, she married James H. Bickford Sr. She worked for Big Smith, Tyson Foods and La-Z-Boy. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and woodworking projects.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; and four siblings, Junior Myers, Raymond Myers, Alta Rose Robertson and Barbara Bickford.

Survivors include her second husband, Ron Shelton of Diamond, Mo.; four sons, Tony Bickford (Marilyn) of Diamond, Gregory Bickford of Goodman, Melvin Bickford (Ronda) of Goodman and James H. Bickford Jr. (Patricia) of Neosho, Mo.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Rhonda Bickford (Pete) of Goodman and Georgia McCumber of Joplin; and a brother, Pete Myers (Tina) of Marshfield, Mo.

Funeral services were held graveside on Friday, March 30, 2018, at the Howard Cemetery in Goodman with Pastor Mark Bickford officiating.

Joyce Varner, 82, of Sulphur Springs, Ark., died Thursday, March 29, 2018, at the Ozark Community Hospital in Gravette, Ark., after a recent decline in health.

She was born April 13, 1935, in Okeechobee, Fla., to Allen and Pearl (Padgett) Hancock. She resided in Okeechobee for several years before moving to Sulphur Springs in 1993. On Oct. 17, 1978, she married John Varner. She was a homemaker throughout her life and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed feeding the birds and helping others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Luke Platt, Johnnie Fender and Vance Yates; two brothers, Sonny and Archie Hancock; and three sisters, Wanda Hullet, Arlene Carter and Winny Leitner.

Survivors include her husband, John, of the home; two children, Clayton Yates of Sulphur Springs and Joyce Buckner of Melbourne, Fla.; seven grandchildren; a brother, Johnnie Hancock of Okeechobee; and a sister, Gail Castro of Houston, Texas.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2018, in the Noel Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor David Barber officiating. Burial followed in the Butler Creek Cemetery in Sulphur Springs.
