Tim Shields led the McDonald County High School golf team by shooting a 111 over the par-72 Briarbrook Country Club at the Bird-Dog Invitational held March 29 in Carl Junction.
Next for the Mustangs was Walker Keith, just a shot behind Shields with a 112. Lily Allman followed with a 115, while Payton McKee had a 119 and Sam Whitehill had a 127.
Dylan Garner of Cassville took individual honors with a four-over-par 76.
Jefferson City Helias won the team title with a 335, followed by Willard with 343 and Carthage with 344. McDonald County was 19th with a 457 team total.
The Mustangs' next match is the Joplin Invitational on April 5 at Twin Hills Country Club in Joplin.
