Are You Making Wise Investments?

Here we are again sharing the Love of Christ with you. This is the day that the Lord has made, Let us be glad and rejoice in it.

I do wish you would visit the Cove and if you do not have a home church give us a chance to make you feel the wonderful blessings that only come from our Savior.

We had birthdays to celebrate Sunday: Sister Dorothy Cost and Sister Jody Cartwright, we're so glad that they were allowed to spend another year in service for the Father. Both are such a blessing to our church, always ready with a hug that shows their love for everyone. Brother Daniel gave a special wish for Jody, so sweet that he wants all to know the love and respect he has for his wife. Good Job Daniel.

We were so thrilled to again see Sister Viola (Sister Naomi's sister) and Brother Gary from Kansas. Carlie Cartwright was with us this morning, she is such a beautiful girl. Sister Brandi Crosby was here with her children, so happy to see them. We praise the Lord for all who came. If I miss you please forgive me.

Pastor gives us the word in so many different places, I'm trying to keep up.

We want to say that we are praying for the victims of the hurricane.

Pastor Bob gave us a lesson beginning with Mark 14:1-6, along the same lines of last week's sermon, we learn of the compassion Jesus had for even the sinner. He never holds back the healing of those who seek his help.

Just as if all were the only person in the world, He never turns from them. Just like the woman who had the issue of blood for 12 long years, she was banned from the temple and was an outcast. A man named Jairus, a high priest who had tried to figure a way to get rid of Jesus, had come to beg for healing for his daughter, who was dying.

When he found Jesus he asked him to come to his house, bowed down at the feet of our Lord and asked for help. During this time many were following them and Jesus stopped and asked, "Who touched me?" Well, who could tell when the crowd was so great. Then the woman with the issue spoke up and said if I could but touch the hem of your garment I would be healed.

Taking time to talk to her, Jesus said, "Daughter, thy faith has made thee whole, go in peace." She was healed. Now this is the way our Lord takes time for all who seek him. He is available to those who keep him first in their lives.

At this point some were sure that Jairus' daughter was dead. Jesus spoke and said "Be not afraid. The girl is not dead -- she only sleeps." When they reached the house He reached out to her and said "Damsel I say to thee, 'arise,'" and she rose up and walked.

If the woman with the issue and Jairus had put their faith in someone other than Jesus they would have lost the blessing of healing and salvation. They made the right investment!

Read Matthew 6:9-21. This enforces the fact that we are to make our investment in heaven for where your treasures are there will your heart be. That's pretty straight! Never fail to look at your everyday life and ask yourself what is the most important thing in my future. I'm sure you will give the old answer given for all time, it is Heaven or Hell.

Where do you want to invest your life?

As the woman in the book of Luke who gave her last penny, you have a choice to make. Put your hand in the hand of the one who rewards you investments.

God Bless until next week.
