Poker Run Benefits Rescue

The Huckleberry Poker Run, open to all motorcycles and cars, will be Saturday, Oct. 28.

Registration will be from 9 to 10 a.m. and the ride will start at 10 a.m. from the Jane Walmart south parking lot. This will be a two-hour ride through the beautiful Ozarks. The last stop will be at the community center in Pineville, where lunch will be served at noon.

The price is $15 per vehicle and $5 for extra passengers. The fee includes lunch, prizes, drawings and more. The event will be held rain or shine. For more information, call Mike or Paula at 940-733-3402.

Project Graduation Car Show

Pull your hot rods out this weekend because McDonald County High School's Project Graduation is hosting a car show this Saturday on campus. Registration will be 10 a.m. until noon. Vehicles will be on display from noon until 3 p.m.

Entry fee is $15 per car, unless you are a MCHS student - in which case it is $10 per car. Admission is $5 per adult, $1 per child 12 and under, kids three and under are free. Proceeds will be used to host a safe, fun event for students following graduation.

32nd Annual Powell Mule Jump

The 32nd annual Powell Mule Jump will take place on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Albert Brumley Park.

Admission is free and no fees are charged for the trail ride, mule jump or dog events. Organizers are making chili and there will be a charge for the food, organizer Don Shockley said.

The trail ride starts at 10 a.m., with the mule jump at 1 p.m. The dog events, which will include a treeing contest, will take place at 2 p.m., he said.

Anyone wanting to enter a mule or dog may attend the event and just register that day, Shockley said.

Stella Senior Center Dance

The Stella Senior Center will host a dance with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, with the dance starting at 7 p.m. The band will be The McDonald County Playboys for a cover charge of $3. Food and refreshments are available. For more information, call 417-628-3314.

American Legion Benefit Dinner

Pineville/Jane American Legion Post 392 will be having their third Friday benefit dinner starting at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 20. The dinner will be prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary and will feature pulled pork, potatoes, vegetable, salad, rolls, dessert, and drinks. A donation of $7 for adults and $5 for children (10 and under) is requested. Everyone is welcome and carry-outs are available. The Legion building is located on Jessie James Road next to the Cornerstone Bank in Pineville, Mo.

'Beauty and The Beast' Movie

Pineville will host its last free movie of the season, "Beauty and the Beast," at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Pineville Community Center. Chairs will be provided, but those who are interested in attending may bring their own blankets or their own chairs. Concession will be provided.

Hillbilly Days

McDonald County Senior Center will be celebrating Hillbilly days starting at 5 p.m. Oct. 21 with music by Tar Top Travelers and a pot luck dinner. Come and eat some of Ma's good cooking. There will be beans (brown and white) with ham, fried potatoes, cabbage, cornbread and sweet onions with some good old possum pudding. So dig out Grandma's cookbook, make her favorite dish and bring for all to enjoy those fine vittles.

Banner Church Tailgate Party

Following the 10:30 a.m. service on Oct. 22, Banner Church of the Nazarene will host a tailgate party. Wear your favorite team jersey and enjoy some great food and fellowship. Bring your own food and grill, but it is not necessary. The church will fix plenty for everyone. Just bring a lawn chair and enjoy the fun. Pic & Bow Concert Oct. 22

The Pic & Bow will be in concert at Banner Church of the Nazarene at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22. Acoustic/contemporary Christian artists C. Community Harvest Party

The First Baptist Church is hosting a Community Harvest Party from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25. There will be free food, games, door prizes and hay rides. Southwest City Community Clean-up Day

Southwest City will be holding a city-wide clean-up this weekend, where residents are encouraged to dispose of any unwanted items they may have. Dumpsters will be available at the wastewater treatment plant, on Stand Watie Road, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13 and from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Oct. 14.

Veteran's Day Concert

Bella Vista Women's Chorus will host a "Veteran's Day Musical Salute" on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. Joined by the Bella Vista Men's Chorus, Perfect Harmony and the Bentonville High School Chamber Choir, the songs will honor veterans. The event is at 3 p.m. at Bella Vista Community Church. This concert is a fundraiser for the National Cemetery in Fayetteville and the Veterans Wall of Honor in Bella Vista.
