Soccer Earns Second Win

The McDonald County High School boys' soccer team picked up its fifth win of the season with a 2-0 win over College Heights Christian Academy of Joplin on Oct. 3 at Loyce Shellnut Soccer Field in Anderson.

McDonald County missed several early opportunities before Ulizes Lazaro headed in a shot from a ball sent into the penalty box by Carlos Marcos with 8:30 left in the first half.

McDonald County added an insurance goal six minutes into the second half on an unassisted goal by Alfredo Sanchez.

McDonald County improves to 5-8 on the season heading into its Oct. 10 match against Joplin. The Mustangs will hold Senior Night ceremonies on Oct. 12 when McDonald County hosts Riverton, Kan. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
