Branson Wins Classic Volleyball Tournament

Branson defeated College Heights Christian Academy of Joplin in the championship match to win the annual Lady Mustang Volleyball Classic held on Oct. 7 at MCHS.

The Lady Pirates defeated East Newton and College Heights in pool play to earn a semifinal berth.

Diamond defeated McDonald County and Pea Ridge in the other pool to also earn a spot in the semifinals.

Pea Ridge beat East Newton in one quarterfinal to advance to the semifinals against Branson.

College Heights defeated McDonald County in the other quarterfinal match to advance to the semifinal match against Diamond, where the Lady Cougars defeated the Lady Wildcats to earn a second shot at Branson.

The Lady Pirates defeated College Heights in straight games for the title.

McDonald County faced East Newton in the consolation finals where the Lady Patriots prevailed.

McDonald County falls to 1-25 for the season entering its Oct. 10 match against East Newton and its Oct. 12 Senior Night match against Aurora at MCHS.

Monett

Monett claimed a 25-20 win in the third and deciding game to claim a 25-9, 19-25, 25-20 win over the Lady Mustangs on Oct. 5 at MCHS.

Kailana Pa had five kills and Nikkii Salas three while Mattie Leach and Caitlyn Barton had two each to lead McDonald County.

Kaycee Factor added 16 digs and Madison Hall dished out 15 assists for the Lady Mustangs. Hall added seven service points while Katelyn Ferdig had five.
