Back To Basics Sets October Date

Thursday, October 12, 2017

The Oct. 12 meeting of the McDonald County Back to Basics Community Group will be held at the New Mac Community Room, old Highway 71 north of the High School in Anderson, Mo. The group gathers the second Thursday of each month. The potluck begins at 6:30 p.m.

Harvest Moon, Harvest Food -- nice time to bring in some of your autumn favorites or bring anything you like including main dishes, sides and/or desserts. Bring your own table service (plates, utensils) to conserve resources. Beverages will be furnished.

Speaker for this month was supposed to be Gregg Sweeten talking about Storm Spotting and Emergency Management; however, he has once again had to cancel. So, have you ever thought you might like to add solar panels to your house? Afraid of the cost, the unpredictability, the weight, the cost? I know I said cost twice, but that is what stops most people. Our hero, Marissa Hammet, will be talking about her own successful experience installing them and their several months history so far. Think you will be surprised.

Paul Rouse will be talking about options for those folks who have to find a new cable provider before the end of November.

Entertainment will be Trilogy.

The group is on Facebook at McDonald County Back to Basics (B2B) Community Group. Anyone can post tips, pictures and news.

The McDonald County Back to Basics Community Group formed in 2008 as a grassroots effort to combine education, information, community services, and a social outlet so that we can support each other in good times and bad. This activity is fun, free and open to all, including surrounding communities.
