Winterfest Planned In Anderson

The city of Anderson will wrap up Winterfest on Saturday with festivities and the annual parade.

Winterfest activities kick off at 10:30 a.m., when the public is invited to Exciting Living Word Fellowship to celebrate families in the community during the Winterfest pretty baby contest.

The age categories have been extended this year to encompass charming kids from newborns up to 36 months.

Entry fee is $5. Entry forms can be picked up at Anderson City Hall or downloaded from andersonbetterment.org.

Main Street will be packed with an assortment of items to view, purchase and eat during the annual street fair from noon until 2 p.m. Businesses along Main Street and throughout Anderson will offer a variety of seasonal goods, art and food, as well as select holiday deals.

Excitement peaks at 2 p.m. when a dazzling parade moves through the city and handmade floats fill Main Street.

Ribbons are awarded to floats in many categories and participants are free to express their creativity.

"Enter a float, bicycle, motorcycle, horse, cow or 'whatever' in the parade!" said Ken Schutten, event organizer.
