God's Got You Covered

Well, today was friends' day and what a turnout, over 70 in attendance to share in a wonderful dinner on the grounds! There were far too many for me to try to print names, so we just want to say thanks for worshiping with us on this Lord's Day and please come again soon.

Pastor was back and, as usual, preached the word with all the spirit within him. I am sad to say that we were unable to be present at Sunday morning meeting but the evening service was so powerful I felt led to write the news from that worship service.

I for one, have always told my loved ones never forget that you are covered by the blood that Jesus shed for you. When Satan comes against you, just rebuke him and let him know that he cannot touch you. He cannot come through the blood covering that the Savior provides.

Pastor Bob gave several scriptures that establish the fact God has got you covered. In Ephesians 1:2-10, we are told of his love shown by the many promises of blessings, peace, and grace. You see in verse 4 that we were chosen before the foundation of the world. Think about where we came from. We were not among the Jews who were God's chosen, but he allowed us as Gentiles to be welcomed into the family of God. It was His good pleasure to make known unto us that we would be forgiven just for the asking. Of course, we must continue in His ways as we read and learn the words of life, the Bible. He is continually teaching us to walk uprightly and not be scorned by the evil one because we are covered by the blood of the cross.

In chapter 2 of this book, we read of his mercy toward all who call him Lord. Verse 8 gives the promise that we are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. In days before the cross we were walking far off, but now Christ has drawn us into his loving care. In Ephesians 3:17 we are told that Christ may dwell in our hearts by faith: that being rooted and grounded in love He will grant to us exceeding abundantly above all we can think or ask. His power works within us. But we must put off the old man and put on the whole armor of God in order to resist the fiery darts that are sent at us by the old evil one. Again we are covered. At this point, when we have done all we know to do, we must stand steadfast in our new life of joy and peace.

Do you realize what a wonderful gift you have been given? We are to be ever thankful for our Father who sees all and protects us from many things that we don't even know are lurking in our path. So glad for a church that teaches the true word of God. Bless you is our prayer.
