Complimentary Eye Screening Nov. 29

Triad Eye Institute will be providing a complimentary eye screening for seniors age 55 and older from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the Southwest City Senior Center at 103 School Street in Southwest City. The screening includes tests for cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, dry eyes, external diseases of eyes and lids, and laser vision correction (LASIK).

American Legion Thanksgiving Benefit Dinner Nov. 17

Pineville/Jane American Legion Post 392 will host a benefit dinner to start at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17. The dinner will be prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary and will feature turkey, dressing, potatoes, vegetable, salad, rolls, dessert and drinks. A donation of $7 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under is requested. The Legion building is located on Jessie James Road next to the Cornerstone Bank In Pineville. Everyone is welcome, and carry-outs are available.

Turkey Trot in Southwest City Nov. 23

The ninth annual Southwest City Turkey Trot, 5K Run/Walk is scheduled at 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 23, rain or shine. The Turkey Trot is a benefit for The Anne Croxdale Memorial Library and the Southwest City Arts Center. Entry fee is $15 per adult and $10 under 18. Register at the Cornerstone Bank or the Anne Croxdale Memorial Library. Dogs on leashes are welcome to join in the run/walk. McDonald County Republican Club Dec. 4

McDonald County Republican Club will meet next at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4. The meeting is hosted by the McDonald County Historical Society and will be held at the Pineville Community Center. As a bonus to the meeting, the club will serve smoked chicken, cheesy potatoes, baked beans, hot rolls, dessert and a drink. Amateur Radio Club License Testing and Monthly Meetings

The Bella Vista Amateur Radio Club offers Amateur Radio license testing through the American Radio Relay League (ARRL). The Amateur Radio Testing sessions are held at 2 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month at Highland Christian Church in Bella Vista, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd. (Highway 279 North).

The Bella Vista Radio Club meets at 11 a.m. on the first Thursday of every month also held at Highland Christian Church. Meetings are open to the public.
