Freshmen End Season With A Win

The McDonald County freshman baseball team finished its season with a 6-10-1 record after dropping its final four games of the season last week.

Against Joplin on May 8, the Mustangs dropped the opener 9-2. Cade Smith took the loss, but led the Mustangs at the plate with a triple.

In the nightcap, Sampson Boles, Blaine Bishop and Jacob Pagel took the mound in the Mustangs' loss (scores were unavailable). Bishop, Smith, Pagel and Omar Manuel had hits for McDonald County.

In their final games of the season, at Monett on May 9, the Cubs claimed an 8-2 decision in the first game with Jackson Behm taking the loss.

Smith, Manuel, Behm and Tae-Shaun Alik had hits for McDonald County.

Koby McAlister started and Manuel relieved in the loss in the second game (scoring was unavailable). Alik, Pagel and Smith all had one hit to lead the Mustangs.
