Zach Woods made good on his second chance to win a Big 8 Conference pole-vault championship.

Woods and Lamar's Brady Luce cleared 12-0 without a miss before both failed to clear 12-6 on three attempts, setting up a jump off to decide the conference champion. Luce went first and missed again at 12-6, as did Woods. With the bar lowered to 12-3, Luce missed again while Woods easily cleared to win the Mustangs' only conference title.

Shane Russo placed in four events to lead the remaining Mustangs' results. Russo was second in the long jump (20-0), fourth in the triple jump (38-8) and 200 (23.55) and sixth in the 100 (11.51).
