A handful of seniors at McDonald County High School recently shared their plans for the future.

Rylan Lett, son of Roddy and Renee Lett, is in show choir, DECA, FBLA, an officer in National Honor Society, an officer in Science National Honor Society, a Drug-Free Scholar, in A+ and U of A Talent Search.

"I'm going to Crowder College, and then I'll transfer after either a semester or a year," he said. Lett noted he already has 30 hours of college credit. He has not yet decided on a major.

"There's so many opportunities and so many possibilities," he said. He wants to go into environmental sciences as a park ranger or own his own business.

"I want to continue growing as a person," he said.

Riley Rickman, daughter of Casey Rickman, is an officer on Student Council, an officer in FBLA, is in National Honor Society, plays volleyball, runs track, is a basketball manager, is in A+ and in UofA Talent Search.

"I'm going to go to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla.," she said. "I'll probably major in psychology with a minor in human services. I'm going to be a caseworker in foster care after college."

Lindsey Limore, daughter of Kim and Scotty Limore, plays volleyball, is in FBLA and DECA, runs track, is in FFA and is a student ambassador.

She plans to go to Northeastern Oklahoma University and will probably major in business administration and minor in horticultural science.

Noah Jones, son of Denee and Keith Jones, plays basketball, is in National Honor Society, FCCLA and A+.

He plans to attend Missouri Southern University in Joplin and is undecided on a major. He noted he will probably choose "something in psychology, but I haven't 100 percent decided yet."

Yasmine Montes DeOca, daughter of Leonor and Alvaro Gonzalez, is in A+, International Club and cosmetology school.

She said, "I think I just want to go to Crowder and get my generals and then I'll transfer to another university to be a pediatric dentist or an ophthalmologist."

Principal Greg Leach said of the class of 2017, "This is a really good group. We've been very successful. We've got a young lady that made all-academic team. We've got five groups that have qualified for national competitions: FCCLA, debate, Skills USA, DECA and FFA. Since I've been here that's the most teams we've ever qualified for national competitions. It'll be a hard group to replace. They've always scored well on tests. They're good leaders. Just overall a strong class."
