JV Takes 2nd In Round-Robin

The McDonald County High School junior varsity baseball team took second place at a four-team round robin tournament held May 5-6 at Joplin High School.

After dropping a 3-2 decision to Joplin to open the tournament on May 5, the Mustangs responded with a 13-7 win over Carl Junction and a 17-7 win over Neosho on May 6.

Ragan Bradley got the win on the mound against Carl Junction. Leading hitters were Joe Brown with three hits and Micah Burkholder and Trey Black with two each.

Izak Johnson was the winning pitcher for the Mustangs against Neosho. McDonald County was led by Michael Steeves, Caleb Curtis and Dylan Teague with two hits each.

Steeves took the loss in the Mustangs' loss to Joplin, which snapped a six-game winning streak.
