McDonald County Living Center, formerly know as Golden Living Center, offers 24-hour skilled nursing care, short-term rehabilitation and long-term care to residents. The facility also provides physical, occupational and speech therapy, as well as a specialized, secure Alzheimer's care unit.

The facility is located on Missouri Street in Anderson, just a short distance from Indian Creek. From the front porch, residents can enjoy the shade of established trees and the crisp breeze from the hillside.

The center's community involvement is second-to-none. Each year, the nursing home hosts a widely popular Easter egg hunt and a Halloween trick-or-treat. Students from schools around the county regularly visit to perform for and interact with residents.

In 2015, Director Susan Woods was named David Duncan Administrator of the Year.

Woods is one of only five nursing home administrators in the southwest Missouri region to receive this distinction, and this was her second time receiving this award in less than 10 years.

The recipients of the award are selected based on length of service to the facility, new programs or services implemented, staff and resident interactions, as well as contributions to the image of long-term care.
