Goodman City Council To Review Idea Of Skate Park

Goodman City Council members are looking into the idea of a new skate park for kids.

Alderman Calvin Wilson said a resident called him recently, asking the council to consider building a skate park for youngsters. Mayor Greg Richmond said the idea had been broached before by several people.

Cost for such a skate park and the liability for the city are concerns the council and mayor shared. Wilson said he believed the skate park in Neosho had cost approximately $35,000 to build. Richmond said funding and grants could be available and that the idea for the skate park was "worth looking into."

In other business, the council voted to approve City Supervisor David Brodie's request to fix a 1990 generator which needs a new switch and disconnect box.

Brodie also mentioned that he erected two speed limit signs in town.

Other business included:

• Discussion that the city officials will clean up the intersection of Ozark and Main Street, which is full of gravel.

• Confirmation that the council will retain the same lawn mowing services for the season.

• Choosing dates and coordinating a meeting with Jill Cornett, of the Harry S. Truman Coordinating Council, to discuss the city's comprehensive plan.
