Pineville VFD Benefit Breakfast

Pineville Grill will host its annual benefit breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, at the restaurant to raise money for the Pineville Volunteer Fire Department.

Movie Season Starts

Pineville will kick off its Movie Season on March 18 with "Finding Dory." The movie will begin at 6 p.m. at the new safe room/gym at Eighth and W streets, at the Pineville Elementary School.

The family-friendly event is free.

Concessions will be sold.

Southwest City Senior Center Book Sale

Southwest City Senior Center is hosting a book sale from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. until March 17. "We have Western, mystery, suspense and romance," said Director Melissa Lance. "All kinds of books! And donations are still being accepted." Funds raised from the sale are used for the Senior Center.

Stella Senior Center Dinner/Dance

The Stella Senior Center will have a dinner and dance on Friday evening, March 17. At 5:30 p.m., they will serve a St. Patrick's "Irish Supper" with dessert and drink for $5. At 7 p.m., dance to music by "The McDonald County Playboys" for $3.

Legion Post Dinner

Pineville/Jane American Legion Post 392 will be having their Third Friday benefit dinner March 17. The dinner will be prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary and will feature corned beef and cabbage, brisket, salad, vegetable, potatoes, gravy, rolls, dessert and drinks. Serving will start at 4:30 p.m. A donation of $7 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under is requested. Everyone is welcome, and carry-outs are available. The Legion building is located on Jessie James Road next to the Cornerstone Bank in Pineville, Mo. Proceeds go to support veterans.

Senior Center Potluck Dinner

McDonald County Senior Center will be having a potluck dinner at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 18, with music by "Tar Top Travelers," featuring Jim Leemasters, Dennis Gano, Tommy Beck, Willie Warren and R.B. Price singing Gospel, Country and Bluegrass. Come for an evening of fun, food and entertainment. For more information, call Louine at 417-475-3511.

Rabies Clinic

The City of Anderson is conducting a rabies clinic from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the City Barn, 604 S. Highway 59. Rabies shots are $8, five-in-one shots are $12 and distemper shots are $12. People will also have an opportunity to get city tags for their dogs at that time as well. The cost for tags are $5 for dogs that are fixed and $10 that are intact.

Banner Church of the Nazarene

Banner Church of the Nazarene will host the "Tragedy Into Triumph" simulcast at 6:30 nightly Sunday, March 19, through Wednesday, March 22. The schedule is as follows:

• Sunday, speaker Erin Merryn presents "Surviving Child Sexual Abuse"

• Monday, speaker Deion Sanders presents "Depression"

• Tuesday, speakers H.K. Derryberry and Jim Bradford present "Disabilities"

• Wednesday, speaker Rebekah Gregory (Boston Marathon Bombing) presents "Terrorism."

There is no charge for the simulcast.
