On July 2, 2017, Bill Cargile, age 74, of Pineville, Mo., passed from this world and stepped into the loving arms of his parents and grandson, Jacob Cargile. Billy Wayne, the eldest son of Wayne and Lillian (Burns) Cargile, was born on Nov. 8, 1942, in Washburn, Mo.

Raised in the Assembly of God Church, he grew up playing baseball, coon hunting, and worked as a logger with his father even after graduating as a Washburn Trojan. He married and had two children. Later he remarried and gained three stepchildren. He was a man of many talents including working as a farrier, carpenter, framer, roughneck, and drywaller, while also enjoying bareback riding, bulldogging, and cattle penning. His quick wit and down-to-earth spirit made him a friend to many and he will be missed.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ruby (Wise) Cargile; his two daughters, Nerissa Camp and Annalisa Roth; three step-children, Greg Dewill, Teena Stewart, and Reena Eberle; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, Tom Cargile; and his sister, Betty Hanley.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Mo.

Alma Hatfield

Mrs. Alma Hatfield left this world on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, surrounded by family.

Born Alma Frances Alexander on December 16, 1918, to Etta Womack and Charles Stewart Alexander in Southwest City, Missouri, Mrs. Hatfield would have been 99 years old in December.

While attending business college in Springfield, Missouri, Alma met and married the love of her life, Logan Hatfield, on September 9, 1939. After graduating college, Alma worked for the department of the United States Navy while Logan served as a World War Two policeman in the Panama Canal Zone. While there, they had one son, Charles Stewart. Mrs. Hatfield was a loving and devoted wife and mother.

Mrs. Hatfield and her husband had several grocery stores over the years. In 1961, they purchased an E--Z Mart in her hometown of Southwest City, Missouri. Along with operating the store for over 20 years, Mrs. Hatfield was also a successful farmer. She raised cattle and pigs, built and maintained fences, and did her own butchering. Her hard work and determination was a great example for all who knew her. She had a gentle nature and a fiery spirit.

In recent years, Mrs. Hatfield lived in Bentonville, Arkansas, to be near her son. She enjoyed making quilts and household items and was active at the local senior center. She had a grand sense of humor and enjoyed playing cards or dominoes and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Hatfield was preceded in death by her parents, Etta and Charles Alexander and her loving husband of 55 years, Logan Hatfield. She is survived by one devoted son and daughter-in-law, Charles Stewart and Kelly Hatfield; her grandchildren, Chad Hatfield and wife Monica, Whitney Kindell and husband Dustin, Christa Means and husband, Brian; four great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.

Dalton Taylor Horn, 18, of Exeter, Mo., passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo. He was born Feb. 9, 1999, in Harrison, Ark., the son of Robert and Elizabeth (Ivie) Horn.

He received his education at Exeter and was a 2017 graduate of Exeter High School. He attended Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed motorcycles, was multifaceted and had a great sense of humor.

Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Larry and Melody Ivie.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, who raised him, Robert and Brandy Horn; mother, Elizabeth Ivie; five sisters, Alshia Clark, Harmony Horn, Caeton Horn, Muriel Horn and Dharma Horn; grandparents, Bobby and Vickie Horn, Tommy and Marianne Norton and Ronnie and Teresia Mattingly; and two brothers, Devin and Zack.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017, in Crow Pond Cemetery at Exeter, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton, Mo. Pastor Ken Carney conducted the services.

Joyce "Luann" Jones, 69, of Neosho, Mo., loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 10, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. at her home, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on Mother's Day, May 9, 1948, in Fairland, Okla., to Lucille Garren. She married Larry M. (Pug) Jones on May 14, 1966, in Miami, Okla. She attended the Goodman Full Gospel Church where she enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She also loved to sew and make children's clothing, among many other things.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Garren; stepfather, Andy Anderson; father-in-law, Melvin Jones; a sister, Geneva Tichenor; and brother-in-law, Larry Brady.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Larry (Pug) Jones; son, Allen Jones (Tracy); daughter, Shawndel Rainwater (Les); six grandchildren, Adriana Henry (Travis), Allura and Axton Jones, Addison Rainwater (Natalie), Gavin and Gabee Rainwater; one great-granddaughter, Briar Henry; three brothers, Loren Garren (Linda), Ellick Garren (Carlene), Junior Garren; one sister, Cloeta Brady; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Luann will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. The Reverend Virgil Sherwood will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Neosho. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark funeral home. The family received friends at this time. Memorial contributions may be given to the Avalon Hospice in care of the funeral home.

Marjorie Fern Lewis

Marjorie Fern Lewis, 96, of Pineville, Mo., departed this life on Sunday afternoon, July 2, 2017, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo., after a sudden illness. She entered this life on Sept. 7, 1920, in Carthage, Mo., daughter of the late Henry and Nellie (Collier) Jones.

She was a lifelong area resident of McDonald County. On July 16, 1938, she was united in marriage to Luther Ben Lewis and to this union six children were born. She retired from Hudson Foods in Noel, Mo., in 1982, after 25 years of service. After retirement, she served as a caregiver for numerous homebound individuals in the area. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading and studying scriptures. She attended worship services at Hilltop Mission Church in Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Luther Lewis on Aug. 6, 1955; a daughter, Betty Sharon Martin; a grandson, Jerry Lynn Martin; a daughter in-law, Marlene Lewis; three brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by her five children, Norma Gardner of Noel, Mo., Jerry Lewis and wife, Lilly, of Raymore, Mo., James David Lewis and wife, Caty, of Flower Mound, Texas, Donna Peck and husband, Bo, of Anderson, Mo., and Dennis Carl Lewis of Garfield, Ark.; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, J.L. Martin of Anderson; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Scott Leonard officiating. Burial followed in the Pineville Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers were Mark Lewis, Dustin Peck, Jeff Lewis, Luther Gardner, Jeremy Lewis and Aaron Gilmore. The family received friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Memorials are being directed to either Hilltop Mission Church or the Pineville Cemetery Care Fund c/o the funeral home.

Ruben Henry Stettnisch

Ruben Henry Stettnisch, 83, of Fruitland Park, Fla., the loving husband and best friend to Pamela Collins Stettnisch for 32 years, peacefully passed away at The Villages Hospice House, The Villages, Fla., on June 16, 2017. A veteran who served in the Air Force, AFC. He was born in Enid, Okla., on July 24, 1933, to Lawrence and Edna Stettnisch.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother James Stettnisch of Pineville, Mo.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Stettnisch; his son, Dennis Stettnisch and wife Oleta of Rogers, Ark.; and daughters Donna Stettnisch of Bentonville, Ark. and Deborah Sanders of Pineville; Pamela's two daughters, Geri and husband Army LTC (RET) Danny E. Lee of North Little Rock, Ark., Heather Bennett and husband, Adam Bennett of Bella Vista, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three nieces and four nephews; brother Lavern Stettnisch and wife Charlotte of Enid, Okla.; friend and first wife Betty Hall of Pineville.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on July 21 at 2 p.m. at New Life Christian Church, 103 Riordan Road, Bell Vista, where they were married. Joe Williams will officiate. A reception will follow at the church. All are welcome to attend.

Robert William Warner

Robert William Warner, 65, of Moberly, Mo., formerly of Anderson, Mo., departed this life on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the University Hospital in Columbia, Mo., after months of declining health. He entered this life on Feb. 2, 1952, in Denver, Colo., the son of the late Bob and Mary (Byars) Warner.

His formative years were spent in the Fayetteville, Ark., area. He was a truck driver throughout his life. He enjoyed throwing darts, winning numerous awards for his ability.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joe and John Collins.

He is survived by two siblings, Jim Collins and wife, Sherry, of Anderson and Mary McIntosh of Oklahoma City; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Brother Fred Mills officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fayetteville.
