The McDonald County 16U baseball team dropped both ends of doubleheaders to Seneca and Joplin last week to finish the 2017 season with a 5-16 record.

Against Seneca on June 28 at McDonald County High School, McDonald County fell 12-0 in the opener and dropped a 15-8 decision in the nightcap.

Nolan Baisch went the distance in the first game, allowing 12 runs on 10 hits as McDonald County committed seven errors in five innings.

McDonald County was shutout on just four hits, including two by Cade Smith. Sampson Boles and Jackson Behm had the two other McDonald County hits.

Ethan Francisco took the loss in Seneca's 15-8 win in the nightcap before Boles relieved to finish the game.

Leading the offense were Boles, Smith, Omar Manuel and Kammeron Hopkins with one hit each.

Joplin

Joplin claimed a 5-1 decision in the opener on June 29 at McDonald County High School and added a 7-1 win in the nightcap.

Behm took the loss on the mound in the opener while Joe Brown was the losing pitcher in the second game. Smith, Hopkins, Manuel and Francisco each had one hit to lead the offense in the two games.
