Bidding Ends For New Water Tower

CONSULTING ENGINEERS ARE EVALUATING THE COMPANYS THAT BID

The Pineville City Council and the engineers hired to oversee the new water tower are continuing discussions about the project.

Pineville City Mayor Gregg Sweeten said a working meeting will take place soon so both parties can discuss the bids for the new water tower. Open bidding recently ended.

"We have not accepted a bid," Sweeten said. "We will look at each bid and decline all, or accept one."

The engineers oversaw the bidding process. Companies that submitted bids work around the world and the country. City officials will continue to rely on the engineers to make sure each bid is complete, Sweeten said.

Additionally, the expertise of the city's Public Works Department will be tapped, and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources will approve all final decisions.
