Neighbor Warns Others To Check Bank Statements Carefully

Deb McGeehee knows all too well how important it is to check your bank statement consistently.

As folks spend a little more of their hard-earned dollars for holiday gifts, McGeehee stressed that neighbors can't be too careful about protecting their assets.

McGeehee was recently perusing her bank statement when she noticed an odd charge she didn't think she made. A toll-free number was listed next to the charge, so she called that number.

The number went to a company called CodeNetWK.com. The guy on the other end of the line suggested McGeehee give him all her credit card numbers and he could figure out which card the charge was on.

McGeehee didn't give him any other information and certainly did not share her credit card numbers. She said he became "very nasty" when she told him she wasn't going to share additional information.

McGeehee, who lives outside of Pineville, contacted her bank. Arvest officials told her they were aware of the situation and were taking care of it.

With the holiday season upon us, more folks may be spending more at a lot of different places. McGeehee says folks have to be very careful.

"Be extremely diligent about checking your statements and make sure your bank is aware," she said.

"We work too hard to earn our money to lose it."
