Pineville Hosting Annual Christmas Light Contest

The city of Pineville is launching its annual Christmas light contest.

Individuals who have decorated their homes or businesses are encouraged to enter the contest, Mayor Gregg Sweeten announced at the Nov. 28 Pineville City Council meeting.

The first place winner in the residential category will receive $100, and the first-place winner of the business category will have the business' name inscribed on a traveling trophy.

Judging will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. Entry forms are available at the Pineville City Hall.

Other business at the meeting included the tabling of a proposed storage pod ordinance. Aldermen are requesting time to review the proposed ordinance.

Aldermen also approved $20,698.30 in bills.
