8th Grade Girls Improve Record

The McDonald County eighth-grade girls' basketball team defeated Mount Vernon, 35-27, on Dec. 1 at Mount Vernon to improve its record to 6-6 for the season.

Abigail Wiseman, Nicole Estrada and Kloe Myers each scored eight points to lead the Lady Mustangs. Martha Izazaga and Madeline McCall added four points, while Adasyn Leach had three.

McDonald County made it a sweep with a 22-11 win in the B game. Scoring for the Lady Mustangs were: Alexes Gidcumb, seven points; Haley Mick, five; Zoe Parish, three; Melanie Gillming, Joa Sohl and Madison Grider, two each; and Hannah Padilla, one.

Webb City defeated McDonald County 31-24 on Nov. 30 at home. McDonald County scoring was as follows: Estrada, eight points; Wiseman, six; Myers, four; and Izazaga, McCall and Leach, two each.

Webb City added a 36-7 win in the B game. Gidcumb scored four points for the Lady Mustangs and Parish had three.

Cassville claimed a 26-20 win over McDonald County on Nov. 28 at Cassville. Wiseman and Myers each scored six points to lead the Lady Mustangs. Estrada, Izazaga, McCall and Ebenee Munoz had two each.

McDonald County claimed a 31-7 win in the B game behind 11 points from Gidcumb. Grider added seven points. Padilla and Sohl had four each, Parish and Gillming had two each and Mick had one.
