Be Ready Or Be Left

Sorry about last week's news, I had a computer malfunction. Anyone who has ever sat in front of a computer and it just would not respond to your commands, you know what I am talking about. So we will try again.

One great event that I do want to report from last week is Anniversary wishes for Jody and Daniel Cartwright and Garland and Joyce Walters.

This week Pastor Bob had a beautiful picture of the Supper of the Bride. His point was also illustrated by a table set with tablecloth and plates as for a meal to be eaten. Then he began with the statement that Jesus had the table spread where the saints of God are fed, a line from an old song Come and Dine.

We surely must see that the time for our Lord to return is getting very close. We have to be sure of our relationship with Jesus for we will not have time to get ready when He splits the Eastern skies. It is such a scary thing to think we could be left behind never to join our loved ones who have gone by the way of the grave. The word says draw nigh to him and he will draw nigh to you. We have a hope in a place where there will be no sorrow or pain just Joy unspeakable and full of glory. It is truly a place worth preparing for.

In Deuteronomy 30:15 we are told that God has set before us this day life and good, and death and evil. It is up to us to choose our destiny. In verse 17 he says that if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; we will surely lose out on the blessings that our Father has for us.

Verse 20 gives us another way to turn; that we may love the Lord our God, and obey his voice, and that thou may cleave unto him: for he is our life and the length of our days may allow us to live with the saints of old forever and forever.

In Malachi 2:17, we find that we should not worry the Lord with words of prayer that are not pleasing to Him. We find that some say evil things are good which is contrary to the word of God. Be careful how you pray that your prayer is that of good and God will hear and answer according to his will.

The main verse of Pastor's message is found in Matthew 5:6. Here we find that we will be blessed if we do hunger and thirst after righteousness for then we shall be filled. What a wonderful promise, this should make you rejoice and draw ever nearer to our Heavenly Father.

Let us go back to the title of our message, Be ready or Be Left. Think about it, are you willing to lay aside the sins that beset you and run the race to the very end. I for one do not want to be left behind to go through the terrible pain and agony that is meant for those who choose to rebel and turn from God. We pray that you will be more determined than ever to walk the path so wonderfully given the children of God. Until next time live in the love of our Savior.
