MCHS Juniors Sweep Doubleheader Against Grove

The McDonald County junior high baseball team swept a doubleheader against Grove, Okla., on April 7 at MCHS.

Shadow Keeling got the win for the Mustangs on the mound in relief of Bo Leach. Keeling went two and two-thirds innings, allowing two earned runs while striking out one. Leach worked the first inning and a third, allowing four earned runs while striking out two. Brandon Armstrong worked the fifth to get the save.

Trent Alik led the Mustangs at the plate with two hits, while Logan Renner, Levi Helm, Cole Martin, Logan Harriman and Leach had one hit apiece.

Grayson Farris pitched the final three innings of game two to get the win in the Mustangs 8-2 victory. Farris struck out one in shutting out the Ridgerunners in relief of Colton Ruddick. Ruddick allowed two runs in two innings, striking out two.

Dylan Igisomar had two hits while Kaden keeling, Josh Parsons, Tryace McCool, Ethan Lett, Junior eliam, Carlos Sosa and Farris all had one hit.

McDonald County is scheduled to host the second Grove team on April 13 before entertaining Hollister on April 15. Game time is noon.
