Freshman/Sophomores Win Round-Robin

The McDonald County High School 9/10 baseball team went 3-0 to win a four-team round robin tournament in Joplin on Saturday.

The Mustangs opened with a 5-2 win behind a complete game performance on the mound from Koby McAlister.

The offense was led by Cade Smith with two hits while Michael Steeves and Colliar Gottfried had one hit each.

McDonald County defeated Carl Junction 8-6 in its second game. Sampson Boles went the first three innings for the win before Smith pitched the final two innings in relief to get the save.

Omar Manuel, Reece Cooper, McAlister, Smith and Steeves all had one hit to lead the offense.

Jackson Behm pitched a complete game to lead McDonald County capped to a 7-1 win over Webb City to cap off the Mustangs perfect day.

Steeves and McAlister had two hits while Izak Johnson and Kammeron Hopkins had one hit each to lead the Mustangs offense.

McDonald County was at Cassville on April 10 before traveling to Seneca on April 17.
