The McDonald County seventh-grade football team improved to 2-1 on the season with a 22-0 win over East Newton on Sept. 22 at MCHS.
Junior Eliam put the Mustangs ahead 6-0 with a 7-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Later in the quarter, McDonald County made it 14-0 on Bo Leach's 25-yard touchdown and Eliam's conversion run.
The Mustangs' final points came on a 41-yard touchdown by Leach and a conversion pass from Cole Martin to Levi Malone.
Eighth Grade
The McDonald County eighth-grade team fell to 0-3 on the season by dropping a 44-0 decision to the Patriots.
Both teams play at Cassville on Sept. 29. The seventh grade begins at 5:30 p.m. and is followed by the eighth grade game.
