Soccer Team Suffers Another Loss

The McDonald County High School soccer team suffered its fourth consecutive shutout loss when it dropped a 2-0 decision to Carthage on Sept. 15 at MCHS.

The young McDonald County squad battled a more experienced Carthage Tigers team to a 0-0 score at intermission, but the Tigers scored early in the second half and added an insurance goal midway through the final period.

At Pittsburg, Kan. on Sept. 12, the Purple Dragons built a 3-0 lead in the first half and went on to claim a 4-0 decision.

The losses drop McDonald County to 1-8 for the season. The Mustangs' next match is set for Sept. 20 against Thomas Jefferson. McDonald County then hosts Neosho on Sept. 22. Game time is 5 p.m.
