Noel Women's Club Votes To Donate To Library

Special To McDonald County Press

The September meeting of the Noel Woman's Club was called to order by President Dot. After the Pledge of Allegiance and Lord's Prayer were recited, roll call was answered by 16 members. Secretary Debbie read the minutes from the previous meeting and the treasurer's report was given by Bonnie. Cookbook sales continue to be good. If you are interested in buying our cookbook of hometown favorites "Christmas City Classics", call 417-475-5043.

A report was given on the booth at Jesse James Days. Many fans were handed out and the raffles went well. If you stopped by to see us at our booth, we were happy to visit with you. A very special thank you to Judy Rickett of Rags to Riches Flea Market for donating the beautiful quilt that we raffled off. It was a beauty!

We voted to make our annual donation to the Noel Public Library. It was noted the that school is collecting box tops for education. There is a place to drop them at the Methodist Church, so members were asked to collect them to help our school.

We are planning a fall bake sale on Oct. 8 in front of Harps. We will have our usual array of baked goods along with our cookbooks. Come early (9 a.m.) for the best selection of homemade treats. (Most times we have homemade pie.)

Our birthday this month is Louine. Our next meeting will be Oct. 11 with Dot as hostess. It will be our annual Tacky Party. Our speaker will be Retha Mitchell from the Southwest City library.

We invite anyone interested in making our community a better place to come visit us. By working together we CAN make a difference! Call 417-475-5043 for more information.
