The McDonald County High School boys and girls basketball coaching staff, along with the McDonald County Youth Basketball Association, will host a county basketball league for all boys and girls in the third and fourth grades.

Signup forms can be found on the McDonald County schools' website, Facebook and twitter accounts. Signups can also be done at a series of free, instructional clinics to be held prior to the first league games.

The clinics will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 and Oct. 27. The clinics will be open to fifth and sixth grade boys and girls. Players are encouraged to attend both nights.

An added benefit for this year is that the clinics will be held in three different locations on both nights so that players can attend the gym closest to their hometown. Clinics will be held at Anderson Middle School, White Rock School and Southwest City School on both Oct. 24 and 27.

Dates for the third and fourth grade league are Nov. 12, Nov. 19, Dec. 3 and Dec. 10. Teams will play doubleheaders beginning at 10 a.m. each date. League games will be played on a rotating basis at Pineville, Anderson, Southwest City and Noel.

If numbers allow, separate boys and girls teams from each town will be formed. If needed, boys and girls will be combined to form a team.

Cost is $10 and includes a color T-shirt. For more information, phone Ashlie Martin at 417-846-7218 or Kyle Fields or Blake Short at 417-845-3322 or email them at [email protected], [email protected] or [email protected].
