The McDonald County seventh-grade football team beat Lamar 20-8 on Oct. 13 to end their season with a 4-2 record.
Cole Martin hit Levi Malone with a 45-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to open the scoring.
McDonald County increased its lead to 12-0 in the third quarter on a four-yard touchdown run by Junior Eliam.
After Lamar closed to 12-8 early in the fourth quarter, Eliam provided an insurance touchdown with a 44-yard run midway through the final period. Martin ran for the conversion to make the final score 20-8.
Eighth Grade
Lamar claimed a 32-6 win in the eighth-grade game. The Tigers scored 16 points in the first and fourth quarters while McDonald County's lone score came on Jackson Clarkson's 55-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
McDonald County's eighth-grade team finishes the season with an 0-6 record.
