CAHA Defeats Mustangs 3-2

College Heights Christian Academy scored a goal in the last minute of the first half to break a scoreless tie and went on to claim a 3-2 decision over McDonald County High School soccer team on Oct. 4 at College Heights in Joplin.

After giving up the goal to end the first half, McDonald County answered in the first minute of the second half to tie the game at 1-1 when Eh Doh Say knocked in a pass from Jaw Show.

But College Heights took the lead in the 47th minute and added an insurance goal that proved to be the difference in the 61st minute to take a 3-1 lead.

McDonald County closed to 3-2 when Say converted a penalty kick in the 79th minute but could not come up with the tying goal in the final minute.

McDonald County falls to 2-12 heading into its Oct. 11 match at Joplin.

Senior Night will be held on Oct. 13. The Mustangs close out their regular season at MCHS against Riverton. Game time is 4:30 p.m. with Senior Night ceremonies set for halftime.
