Noel Sets Christmas Parade

Noel is once again getting geared up for Christmas. The city will have a business window decorating contest. A $25 gift card will be given to the business that is voted the winner.

Business owners have until Friday, Dec. 2, to have their windows decorated and the winner will be announced at the Noel Christmas parade that will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 3.

This year's theme for the Christmas Parade will the be "A Christmas City Christmas."

Submit registration forms to Noel City Hall no later than Thursday, Dec. 1. Registration forms may be picked up at City Hall. Fax them to 417-475-6550, e-mail [email protected] or mail forms to City of Noel P.O. Box 1010 Noel, MO 64854.

Senior Center Dinner/Dance

The Stella Senior Center will have a dinner and dance on Friday, Nov 25. Starting at 5:30 p.m., they will serve beans and cornbread with slaw, dessert and drink for $5. At 7 p.m., dance to music by "Frosty and the Roadhogs" for $3.

Southwest City Christmas Parade

Southwest City will host the annual Christmas Parade at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. They invite all businesses, churches, youth groups, civic clubs, school groups and riding clubs to participate in the parade. The parade will include floats, marching units, autos and many other categories. Plaques will be awarded to first place in each of the parade divisions. Entry forms should be filled out and submitted by Saturday, Nov. 26. Call Misty at 417-762-3497 with any questions.

Pineville First Baptist Dinner

Thursday, Nov. 24, the First Baptist Church in Pineville holds their annual Thanksgiving dinner for the public from noon to 5 p.m. The church is located at 206 E. Fifth St.

Turkey Trot

The eighth annual Southwest City Turkey Trot and 5k Walk/Run fundraising event begins at 8 a.m. Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 24. The starting line will be at the Anne Croxdale Library on Main Street in Southwest City.

In the past, there have been as many as 130 walkers, runners, leashed dogs and strollers. The Trot is a fun and exhilarating way to begin Thanksgiving Day and has become a tradition for many families and individuals. All proceeds will be divided between the library and the arts center.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner

The third annual Community Thanksgiving dinner at Southwest City Full Gospel Church Life Center is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 24. They will serve Cajun-style fried turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and dessert. In-town delivery is available to the elderly or disabled. Call 417-762-3243 to make delivery arrangements. Southwest City Full Gospel Church is located on South Main Street in Southwest City.

License office Closed Thanksgiving

The Pineville License Office will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25, in observance of the holiday.

Women's Chorus Invitation

Bella Vista Women's Chorus invites singers from McDonald County to join them. All are welcome with no tryouts or experience needed. Directed by Dr. Larry Zehring, BVWC performs classical, pop, folk and show tunes for local clubs and events. Rehearsals are at 12:45 p.m. on Mondays in the music room of the Bella Vista First United Methodist Church. The chorus is available to sing for clubs and organizations.
