Students at Anderson Elementary School tested Alpha Company Gym's obstacle course on May 13.

The kids whizzed through six different stations that challenged their strength, coordination and determination.

The most daunting task for many was the 8-foot-tall wall they scaled with a rope, then climbed down like a ladder.

Other stations featured barrels, stumps and a cattle gate repurposed into monkey bars.

The obstacle course was also set up at Berries, Bluegrass and BBQ in downtown Anderson on Saturday, May 21, for elementary and middle school students to attempt.

Participants can compete to earn a medal or trophy, as well as bragging rights.
