Powell July 4 Celebration

Powell Independence Day celebration will be held on July 4 at the Hill and Holler Grounds near Hartford Music in Powell.

Concession will open at 6 p.m. with music starting at 7 p.m. and fireworks at dusk.

No outside cooler, please.

Bring your own chair or other seating.

Going-Away Reception for Scheel

Elk River Health Services is holding a going-away celebration for Debbie Scheel, the family nurse practitioner at the Southwest City Community Clinic. The celebration is from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, at the Anne Croxdale Memorial Library, 102 Main St., Southwest City.

Scheel, who has been providing medical care in and around Southwest City for 22 years, is becoming a traveling nurse practitioner.

Refreshments will be served.

Stella Senior Center dinner/dance

The Stella Senior Center will have a Dinner and Dance on Friday evening, June 24. Beginning at 5:30 p.m. they will serve Polish sausage and kraut, potatoes, and salad with dessert and drink for $5. At 7 p.m., dance to music by "Frosty and The Roadhogs" for $3. They will also have a Saturday night dance, June 25. Dance to music with "Evelyn and The Outriders" band for $4. Bring a dish to share at 5:30 p.m.

'Kids On Bikes' giveaway

Two kids' 24-inch Mongoose mountain bikes (with helmets) will be given away Tuesday, July 19. "Kids On Bikes" will draw a boy's name and a girl's name. It's free to enter, but you must be present to enter and win. This event will be held at the Pineville Community Center at 6 p.m. Come out and support health and wellness in the community.

Young Outdoorsmen United dinner/auction

Young Outdoorsmen United will host their annual Dinner Auction Banquet Saturday, June 25, at the Christian Church Life Center in Pineville. The event will feature games for all ages, a silent auction before meals are served, and dinner catered by Junior's Smokehouse. Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner served at 6 p.m. A live auction begins at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $20 for adults and $15 for ages 5 to 18 and include a yearly event pass, a gun raffle ticket and t-shirt. Kid's tickets for age 4 and under are $5 and are for meals only.

Arts, Crafts, Music and Cajun Festival

The Arts, Crafts, Music and Cajun Festival will be held Saturday, July 2, at Grove Civic Center in Grove, Okla. Come for good food, good music and good times. Musical entertainers include Jana Jae, Clint Walker, and "Bayou Roots." Enjoy Cajun food, arts and crafts, and Cajun, Bluegrass and Country music. Admission is free.
