McDonald County Press

The July meeting for the Noel Woman's Club was held July 12, with 13 present. Roll call was taken and minutes were read. Bonnie gave the treasurer's report.

The club voted to have a booth at Jesse James Days, Aug. 10-13. Club members will be handing out fans to those who visit the booth. A beautiful quilt that was donated to the club will be on display to be raffled off on the last day. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Some crafts, as well as the club's cookbooks, will also be for sale. Please stop by and visit the booth.

Birthdays this month were Hannah, Melissa and Vicki. The club welcomed two new members: Lisa and Kayla. Club members were pleased to have them join.

Members discussed moving the club's November meeting to the previous Monday because of Election Day.

The club held its "white elephant" program, where used items are brought and traded for something else. It is similar to the Dirty Santa game played at Christmas. Cleo was the hostess, and club members had delicious snacks served with a red, white and blue theme.

The club's next meeting will be Aug. 9. Club members invite anyone who would like to join them to call President Dot at 417-475-5043 for more information or just stop by their booth at Jesse James Days.
