MCHS Wrestling Take Springfield Parkview

Pins by Jakob Gerow (120), Daniel De Santiago (126), Christian Willman (132), Truman Craig (145), Timber Bowers (152) and Bronnie Kinser(285), along with two forfeits gave the McDonald County High School wrestling team a 48-30 win over Springfield Parkview on Jan. 21 in Springfield.

Craig had the quickest pin, beating Kenyon Keiber in 23 seconds. Also registering first period pins were Gerow, who pinned Ian Leach in 52 seconds, and Kinser, who defeated Corbin Hill in 1:32.

Claiming second-period pins were De Santiago (3:06), Willman (4:00) and Bowers (3:25).

Picking up wins by forfeit for the Mustangs were Johann De La Cruz (106) and Dylan Akins (195).

Parkview picked up wins over Nathan Knadle at 145 pounds, Kenneth Read at 160 pounds, Jesus Ocampo at 170 and Rylan Hobbs at 182. The Vikings also received a forfeit at 220 pounds.

McDonald County next travels to the Liberty High School Wrestling Tournament on Jan. 29-30 in Liberty, Mo. The Mustangs travel to Grove, Okla., for a dual on Feb. 1 before returning home to close out the regular season on Feb. 4 against Carl Junction and Diamond. McDonald County will celebrate matwarming and Senior Night on Feb. 4.
