MCHS Junior Varsity Girls Split Results

The McDonald County junior varsity girls' basketball team went 1-2 at last week's Seneca Junior Varsity Girls Basketball Tournament.

The Lady Mustangs opened the tournament with a 36-30 loss to Willard. Megan Mills scored 12 points to lead McDonald County. Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Mustangs were Aspen Bowman with eight points, Jordan Witt with four, Kenzie Stephens and Kylie Helm two each and Samantha Frazier and Mattie Leach one each.

McDonald County rebounded with a 36-18 win over the Joplin freshmen behind 13 points from Mills. Frazier added nine points and Stephens had eight while Witt had six to round out the scoring for the Lady Mustangs.

The Joplin junior varsity claimed a 34-31 win Saturday in the consolation finals. Scoring for the Lady Mustangs was as follows: Mills 10, Frazier eight, Witt six, Alexis Kitlen four, Kylie Helm two and Leach one.
