An International Foodfest at the McDonald County High School cafeteria provided the opportunity to feast on foods from Germany, Japan, Greece, Native American and Cajun foods plus many more at one place at an affordable price -- which doesn't often happen.
"The food items and silent auction donations were provided by area businesses, churches and individuals," said Rachel Acuff, president of the scholarship foundation and coordinator of the foodfest. "The proceeds from this dinner go to the McDonald County Drug Free Scholarship Foundation."
"This is our primary fundraiser for scholarships," Acuff said. "The students work to raise money for the organization for scholarships for secondary education. The recipients of the scholarships are required to commit to a drug-free lifestyle and provide community services."
