The McDonald County High School soccer team traveled to Cassville on Aug. 18 for a scrimmage against the Wildcats.
Cassville broke an early 1-1 tie with three consecutive goals and went on to claim a 7-3 decision.
The Wildcats opened the scoring at the 28:03 mark of the first half with a header. McDonald County tied the match when Yei Min Wei banged a goal off a Cassville defender at 19:38.
Cassville added goals at the 15:11, 14:20 and 11:47 marks before McDonald County's Alex Garcia scored with 8:02 left in the first half.
Cassville added a goal with just over four minutes in the half to give the Wildcats a 5-2 lead at intermission.
Cassville stretched its lead to 7-2 early in the second half before McDonald County's Alfredo Sanchez scored on a penalty kick with under two minutes left to make the final score 7-3.
The McDonald County junior varsity dropped a 1-0 decision in a 20-minute half.
McDonald County opens its 2016 season on Aug. 25 at the Cassville Tournament. The Mustangs open tournament play against Thomas Jefferson at 5 p.m. The tournament continues on Aug. 27 when McDonald County takes on New Covenant Academy at 8 a.m. and Cassville at 1:15 p.m.
