Crowder Fall Community Education Schedule

A wide variety of community education classes are available this fall at Crowder College McDonald County, according to campus director Aaron Divine.

The Name of the Game is Golf:

Understanding the rules, etiquette, and the basic fundamentals of Golf. Class will meet at both the McDonald County Campus and the Scotsdale Golf Course in Bella Vista. Clubs provided.

Beginning Guitar and Jam Session:

Great for the novice or beginning guitar player. Focus of the class will be to address the basics of playing in a group session.

Financial Planning Seminar:

Financial education is an important step in achieving a better future. That is why our Financial Workshop "Your Source for Financial Education," offers clear and practical investing education in a convenient and comfortable format. By attending our workshop, you'll gain a better understanding of the key principles of saving and investing and also learn specific strategies to help reach your long-term goals.

Prose Writing Fiction/Non Fiction:

For Memoirists and short story writers. Students will learn the craft of narrative prose, with special attention given to--Character, Setting, Scene verses Summary, Dialogue, Perspective, Voice, Theme and Idea, Plot v. Story, The Art of Revision/Editing, Query Letter Writing, The Ins and Outs of Publishing, Finding An Agent/Publisher/Literary Journal. Students will workshop their own original creative stories through a peer-reviewed workshop course and with insight from the instructor.

Technical Writing Skills:

For anyone wanting to improve their written communication skills. Subjects covered are: Essay, Explainer, Proposal/Grant Writing, Portfolio, Etiquette.

Imagination Station for K-2 grades:

Children stretch their imaginations and enhance literacy skills through a variety of activities using movement, music, stories, and fun!

Story Theatre for 3-4 grades:

Children stimulate their imaginations and bring stories to life! Children use creativity and movement to increase important skills such as self-confidence, literacy enhancement, and interaction with others.

What should I do with this? Intro/Basic Computers:

This session will cover basics -- setting up email, using keyboard, using mouse, shortcut keys, components of computer system.

Healthy Lifestyles:

Will explore topics related to healthy eating, meal planning, portion control, exercise and developing a healthy lifestyle. Perfect for seniors, health care professionals and anyone looking to make a lifestyle change.
