Three of the five McDonald County High School fall sports teams will either attend or host jamborees prior to the opening of the 2016 season.
The Lady Mustang softball team will host East Newton and Nevada on Saturday, Aug. 13. Scrimmages begin at 10 a.m. with McDonald County taking on East Newton. The Lady Patriots will play Nevada at 11 a.m. followed by McDonald County versus Nevada at noon in the final game.
McDonald County's volleyball team will travel to Diamond on Tuesday, Aug. 16. Other teams scheduled to attend in addition to the Lady Wildcats and Lady Mustangs are Monett and Seneca. Game times were not available.
The McDonald County varsity and junior varsity soccer teams travel to Cassville on Thursday, Aug. 18. The first game begins at 5 p.m.
The Mustang football and cross country teams will not attend a jamboree. The Mustang football team opens its season against Salem on Friday, Aug. 19 at MCHS. Game time is 5 p.m.
The cross country team's first race of the year is the Southwest Cross Country Coaches Association Kickoff on Saturday, Sept. 3, in Lebanon. Race time is 9 a.m.
