Tale Of Two Men

We ask you to join us in prayer for two of our very dear members. They are very ill and God knows the key to their healing.

Our service was started with the assurance to our youth that there is hope in the Lord. The days we live in can sometimes look very hopeless, and without our the Lord they would be but we do have a future that points us to eternal life with God.

Pastor quoted a thought that hit home with a lot of us. He asked the question, "Do we have enough fuel to finish the journey. It is up to us if we study the word and refuel our mind and soul with the tools to complete our calling."

In Luke chapter 16:19-31, we are told of two men who chose different roads for their lives. You all know the story of Lazarus and the rich man. The end of the journey for Lazarus was blessed by the fact that he was found in the arms of the Father and safe forever more in a place of joy and contentment. However the rich man lost all his riches and the end for him was one of eternal torment in a very real place called Hell. He begged for mercy -- but it was too late. He asked for just a drop of water but the word tells us it is appointed once for a man to die and after this the judgment.

Always know that death is certain and there is no turning back at that point. Lazarus was escorted to heaven by angels. His life as a poor man did not mean a thing to those angels, who lifted him from the earth and gave him a new life. Unless we put God first in our life we will never be able to join Lazarus. Think about it -- which man would you want to spend eternity with?

The Bible is full of instruction and the first step to get to that perfect way is repent and turn to a life full of love for Jesus Christ. Study the word, for in it you will find the truth and the truth will set you free.
