RITA GREENE MCDONALD COUNTY PRESS Shirley Morgan Alps, left, and David Alumbaugh, and a host of other people, enjoying a great meal at the Pineville Reunion on Saturday.

A total of 165 people attended Saturday's Pineville All-School Reunion.

The event was held at Pineville Christian Church Family Life Center. David Alumbaugh, master of ceremonies, opened by welcoming everyone. Prayer and recognition of those that had passed was given by Debbie Alumbaugh. Rick and Kay Akehurst photographed all classes by year. Everyone had an opportunity to order a photo.

Recognition was given by Shirley Alps, to volunteers, teachers/staff, students celebrating their 49th- and 50th-year -- the reunion is held every other year. Recognition and prizes were given to James Dickey for the eldest student. Dickey was in the graduating class of 1944. The student traveling the most miles (1,880) was Gary Crowder. Many door prizes were given out and winners of the silent auction were announced at the end of the day.

Lunch was catered by the MCHS Prostart with Marie Strader, Angie Deckard and their eager students.

Reunion committee members include: Shirley Morgan Alps, Ann Crowder Kresyman, Marilyn Sigler Smythia, Faye Weston Bonebrake, Janis Rickman Melton, and Betty Lynn Testerman Thompson.

The committee thanks everyone who volunteered whether in a large or small way. Without those volunteers, the reunion would not be possible. Special thanks to Mike Click for making name tags and to local businesses that helped with donations: Bethel's Auto, Burger Time, Car Quest, Country Market, Haven 55, Pineville School, State Farm Insurance, Sean Grider, and all those that donated items for the silent auction.

The committee offered a big thank you to Pineville Christian Church for allowing the reunion at their location.

The next reunion will be on the first Saturday in October 2017. Remember, anyone who attended Pineville school is welcome.
