Although it's still relatively early in my 4-H career, I have already benefited and have had several learning experiences. One thing I've learned is that it is truly fun -- like mom and dad described.

I have really enjoyed attending 4-H camp, showing at 4-H shows, hosting exchange students and participating at Achievement Days.

I have already met several new friends and made some neat projects. I have also already learned to have more confidence in myself, especially when in front of an audience. I have given demonstrations at my 4-H club, and on the county, regional and national level.

I was even emcee at our Recognition Night. I was nervous but it was a great experience.

Speaking in front of a group is something I need to do for the rest of my life. I am glad I am getting an opportunity early in life to become more relaxed in such situations. In addition, attending showmanship clinics and camps has helped me gain confidence while in the show ring.

A couple of my favorite experiences of being a 4-H member was hosting 4-H members from Japan and Minnesota and attending 4-H camp. I met three new friends from different parts of the country and world. I have learned many silly camp songs and got to make several interesting projects at camp. I look forward to another year coming up.
