Where Is God In Your Life?

We gathered this last Sunday before the beginning of the season of Advent to celebrate "Christ the King" Sunday. Pastor Mark Kailbourn welcomed us the service and led us in singing happy birthday to Jo, Lela and Shirley.

After a time of prayer the Pastor shared moments for the children as he discussed what it means to be a king. He shared the moment from the movie "The Lion King" when Simba said he just couldn't wait to be king, thinking of the life of leisure that kings surely enjoy. Then, share the reality of how much responsibility the kings, at least in Bible times, had such as deciding laws, etc.

As the pastor moved on to the theme of the sermon of Christ being our King, he shared how Christ is constantly searching for each of us.

The upcoming season of Advent is a time of preparing our hearts for the coming of Christ -- not just the baby in the manger, but Christ coming to redeem the world. As we think about the shape our world is in, we know that Jesus weeps with us, gives us hope and helps us through changes in our lives.

Jesus, as king, came as a baby, took the form of a child and paints the way through His earthly ministry so that we can know the God of boundless love. He wants a true relationship with us. He promises things will change.

There will come the triumphant time when there will be no hunger, no terrorism and no illness. He knows the pain, sorrow, fear and confusion we all feel. When He comes again we will be redeemed. The challenge this week is to answer this question, "Where is God in Your life?"
