A House Not Made With Hands

This is a very blessed day. We came through the storms of Saturday night. We are so glad that our Father protects us in time of danger. We prayed for those who have faced the disasters of both the earthquake and terrible train derailment. Even though we do not know these people, we should feel the burden to hold them up in prayer. God is truly mindful of all His children. Let us always pray earnestly for on another.

Several gave testimonies this morning of the great answer to prayer. In his word we are told that we are made overcomers by the word of our testimony. We should never fail to tell others of Gods goodness.

Brother Daniel Cartwright blessed us with an old hymn, "Kneel at the Cross." The cross is truly an important part of our hope in this life. Pastor Bob Cartwright began his message with a scripture in 2nd Corinthians 5:1. This very wonderful promise, we have a house not made with hands, a home where we can be forever with our Lord. We are told there will be no sorrow in heaven. Often the word speaks of our body as our home, but thank god we have hope beyond this life, that is why we must.

As told in Luke 13:24-25, strive to enter in at the Strait Gate. We are all given the same opportunity to enter in, but many will seek to enter and shall not be able to. Why? Because we choose the life of pleasure and leave God on the sidelines. In Verse 25 our chances to enter are gone. It tells us that there will come a day when the Master of the house will rise up and shut the door. Such a fearful place to be. He goes on to say that many will stand outside calling Lord, Lord, open unto us and He will reply, "I know you not." Never do I want to hear those words. God knows our heart and will care for us as he leads us down the path to the Strait Gate.

In Matthew 15:8 he speaks of a people who draw nigh to God, but their hearts are far from Him. He knows every thought and deed of his children.

Romans 12:1 reminds us that we are to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to the will of God. We must turn from the ways not pleasing to the Lord and faithful life. We receive so many blessings on this journey. He says he will draw nigh to us if we will just reach out to him.

We also have to resist the devil, as we are told in James, "And he will flee from you." This new life requires that we ought to give the more earnest need to the what we have heard, lest at anytime we should let ourselves slip.

This is stated in Hebrews 2:1-3. We know that God sees all and the angels are here to protect us from the temptation of the evil one. Verse 3 very plainly tells us we shall not escape so great a salvation. There will be a day of judgment for all of us, we need to read the word to find our way day by day. God has bore witness of his presence by giving us signs, wonders and miracles.

In closing, Pastor tells us that we need to consider the lilies of the field. They do not till nor sow, but he cares for them and they are arrayed in such beauty. How much more will he cloth and care for us. We want only to come to God and through Jesus Christ gain this home eternal. We pray you will have a wonderful week and search the word of God for the path we have spoken of. Come visit us at the Cove Mission of Hope, where we put God first in our lives.
