Over 80 Kids Singed Up For Goodman Ball Program

The March 17 Goodman City Council meeting began with Heath Lewis, recreation board director, addressing the council regarding the concession stand at the baseball field.

Lewis said he checked with some churches to see if they were interested in managing the concession stand. However, there was no interest to be found.

Lewis said he had found a few people who are willing to work the concession stand at $7.50 each per hour and had agreed to a total of $750 for the baseball season. Lewis said they can be paid with concession stand proceeds.

The council agreed to use recreation board director wages to pay the difference if concession stand proceeds cannot cover the full $750.

Lewis said 80 kids have signed up for baseball this year so far and he expects more before the season begins.

Mayor Greg Richmond commended Lewis for the work he is doing as director.

A water bill was averaged in the amount of $241.56, for the address of 132 E. Splitlog Ave. under the name of Realty Executives Tri-States. It was noted that the house has been empty for several years.
