Care Net Pregnancy Center Open House Aug. 1

Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center will have an open house from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1.

The center is at 105 W. 5th St., across from the County Health Department in Pineville.

Care Net is a network which spans North America with contact centers to reach women and men at their time of need.

Care Net works to end abortion by building a culture in which women receive the support needed to make courageous, life-affirming choices.

"We are the front line," said Shilo Bridges, Client Services director in Pineville, "to provide alternatives to abortion. We help educate women and help them and couples to become good parents."

"We receive a lot of support from local churches and individuals," Bridges said. "We do not receive any federal or state monies."

Care Net services are free and confidential. Among those services are: pregnancy tests, limited ultrasound, peer counseling, and resources.
