The Word of God Endures Forever

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye dhave love one to another. John 13:34, 35.

Jack Harp and Jake Yotter received the morning tithes and offerings after the penny drill during the July 19 service. Pastor Scott prayed for the many prayer requests and praises that were heard, remember Jesus is our Healer and Physician. Megan Yotter and Tara Stephens led the worship service with "Revive Us Again," "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," and "There is Something About That Name."

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. John 17:20-21

What should the world see when they look at the church? Churches are known for many things, music, doctrine, a beautiful building -- but shouldn't the world recognize us by our love for one another? Our love unifies us and draws us closer to God, and this glorifies God and the world is our witness. Believers are changed and sanctified in the truth of God's Word as the Holy Spirit works in us to fulfill God's plan and purpose for our lives.

The Word of God endures forever and His Word does not change. The grace of God and the law of God work together to reveal Jesus Christ, He is holy and true. He has commanded us to love one another. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (love), I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 1 Corinthians 13:1 Have compassion on your brothers and sisters, show one another tender mercies and let each day be an opportunity to show the world how good God is! Pastor Scott closed the service with prayer and dismissed the congregation.
